Padmaja is also a member of the National Coordinating Committee of India Literacy Project (ILP), a non-profit organization working towards 100% literacy in India.

June 30. Lakshman Sruthi Charity Fund raising event
Lakshman Sruthi light music program and Kannadhasan Vizha. Organized in association with San Francisco area Bay Area Tamil Manram (http://www.bayareatamilmanram.org) at Livermore Shrine Events Center, 170 Linberg Ave, Livermore, CA. After paying for the local expenses, the Chapter sent $12,792.24 to TNF. TNF reimbursed the light music group for its performance and travel, and pooled the balance amount with 2010 TNF convention (held in Philadelphia) funds to initiate the TNF-ABC project. The project focuses on educating the underprivileged in government schools in Tamil Nadu.
